Inspiration

I used to think I knew what art was. I was young, so, forgive me. Today I realize the folly of my thinking. It turns out no one knows, really. I think Picasso came closest when he said, “Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth.” He wasn’t wrong. Any piece of art, no matter how close to reality or as deep into fantasy it is, will be seen differently  by nearly every person. Art is as varied as there are people in the world and no none can say definitively if something is art or not… The whole thing makes my brain hurt, so I try to forget it and draw my comic strip and smile when I’m drawing something funny. I probably look foolish in the local B&N when I sit there grinning and drawing, but – that’s my life some days!
